(Energetiks is gradually moving this style to ProForm EcoLite™, the same lightweight fabric made from recycled plastic bottles.) Light weight matters under a costume: the body stocking adds coverage without adding bulk or heat under stage lights. Seamless construction is the other half of the equation — without seams across the chest, sides, or back, there are no ridges to telegraph through a thin or fitted costume, which is the whole point of wearing one.
