Piano Safari: The Advancing Pianist – Piano Sight Reading Book 2
Advancing Pianist Sight Reading 2 is a 72-page sight reading book from Piano Safari for intermediate pianists (SKU PSAPSR2). It follows Advancing Pianist Sight Reading Book 1.
Its job is to make the “hard” keys ordinary. Keys with three or four sharps or flats can feel unfamiliar for a long time. This book gives each of eight keys its own unit, moving in major and relative-minor pairs, so students spend real time reading in E-flat, A-flat, A, and E major and their minors until those key signatures feel normal. Each pair of units also includes a classical duet.
Who is Advancing Pianist Sight Reading 2 for?
Publisher level: Advancing Pianist Level 2, listed by Piano Safari as Intermediate.
Approximate student level: Intermediate.
It’s for teens and adults (Piano Safari lists ages 12 and up) who have finished Advancing Pianist Level 1, or who are intermediate pianists from another method and comfortable reading in keys up to two sharps and two flats.

How does it work with Technique Book 2?
The companion Advancing Pianist Technique Book 2 (SKU PSAPT2) uses the same eight keys in the same order, with the scale, chords, and arpeggio for each one. Piano Safari sells the pair as its Advancing Pianist Level 2 Pack.
We sell the Advancing Pianist books individually, not as a pack, so you can buy the book your teacher assigns or replace a single book.
Where does it fit?
It follows Advancing Pianist Sight Reading Book 1 (SKU PSAPSR1). Students usually play repertoire from separate collections alongside it.
