Piano Safari – The Joy of Christmas Book 4
Joy of Christmas Book 4 is a 24-page collection of seven intermediate Christmas piano solos, published by Piano Safari (SKU PSJoy4). It’s written for students who have finished Piano Safari Level 3 and are moving into intermediate repertoire.
This book takes the carols everyone knows and gives them the fuller sound an intermediate pianist can handle. Most of the arrangements are by Christopher Fisher, Professor of Piano at Ohio University. Alongside “Silent Night,” “Joy to the World,” and “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” is the “Wexford Carol,” a traditional Irish carol that’s less familiar to many listeners and a nice surprise in a recital or service. One arrangement, “Angels We Have Heard on High,” is by Isaiah Fisher.
Who is this book for?
Publisher level: Intermediate and Late Intermediate.
Approximate student level: Intermediate.
It’s for students past Piano Safari Level 3, or intermediate students from any method. Teens and adults at this level are a good fit; Piano Safari recommends it for all ages.

How is Book 4 different from Book 3?
Book 3 is early intermediate, the first all-solo book in the series. Book 4 is a step up, written for students who have finished Piano Safari Level 3, with arrangements that sit in the intermediate range. Four of its carols (Angels We Have Heard on High, Away in a Manger, Deck the Halls, and Joy to the World) also appear in Book 2 at an easier level, so a student can come back to familiar music with new skills.
