Call for artists: Homecoming, our first show in the new gallery space.

August Muse will host monthly themed art shows beginning August 2026. The first show opens our new home at 404 E. Elk Avenue. The August theme is Homecoming — what home means to you. A place, a person, a sense of belonging, the things we carry on our journey through life.

We’re inviting local and regional artists to apply to be a part of this. All mediums are welcome: painting, photography, fiber, ceramics, sculpture, wearable art. Work can hang on the wall, stand on the floor, sit on a pedestal, or hang from the ceiling. Shows are juried, and we’ll let you know which pieces are in.

To apply, submit up to three pieces. For each one, include a photo, the size, the medium, and a sentence on how it fits the theme.

Dates to know:

• Apply by Friday, July 17
• We’ll let you know by Friday, July 24
• Drop off accepted work Wednesday, August 5 (during open hours, Tuesday–Saturday 11–5, or by appointment — just call the store)
• Opening reception on First Friday, August 7, 6-8pm
• The show hangs all month; pick up unsold work August 28–31

How it works: pieces sell on consignment. You set the price, you keep 65%, and August Muse keeps 35% and handles the sale and the sales tax. Accepted artists are asked to be there for the First Friday opening.
