Energetiks AT29 – Classic Dance Tight, Footless | Adult
For lyrical, contemporary, and any style danced on a bare foot, footless dance tights are the answer: you get the smooth, covered line up the leg without anything on the foot itself. The Energetiks AT29 ends cleanly at the ankle, so the foot is free to point, flex, and grip the floor while the leg keeps that finished, uniform look. It’s the footless member of the Classic Tights family — built on the same breathable microfibre as the footed AT27 and the convertible AT30, just designed for the choreography where shoes and covered toes don’t belong.
The footless cut is the whole reason to reach for this pair. Everything else — the fabric, the flat seams, the cotton gusset — is the same dependable Classic-collection build; what sets the AT29 apart is the open ankle that frees the foot.
Why wear footless dance tights?
Footless tights solve a specific problem: you want the leg covered and the line uniform, but the foot needs to be bare. That’s exactly the situation in lyrical and contemporary, where dancers grip and roll through the floor barefoot, and it’s common in jazz and acro too. Footless also lets a dancer show a pedicured or taped foot on stage, slip into foot thongs or half-soles, and avoid the bunching that can happen when a footed tight is worn without shoes. If your styles keep your feet bare or in minimal footwear, footless keeps the look clean without getting in the way.
What are the AT29 footless tights made from?
The AT29 shares the Classic collection’s build: a microfibre and spandex blend — roughly 72% microfibre to 28% spandex — for a smooth, slightly matte finish, comfortable stretch, and shape retention that keeps the leg from bagging at the knee. A cotton gusset is sewn in for breathability and comfort, and the seams are flat so they stay smooth under leotards and costumes. The only real difference from the footed AT27 is the open ankle.
Footless, footed, or convertible — which Classic tight is right?
All three are the same comfortable fabric; the choice is about your feet. The footed AT27 fully encloses the foot and is the everyday classic for dancers always in shoes — ballet, jazz, tap, character. The footless AT29 leaves the foot bare and is the pick for lyrical, contemporary, and barefoot work. The convertible AT30 splits the difference with a reinforced sole opening, so one pair switches between footed and footless for dancers who take more than one style in a day. If you only ever dance barefoot or in half-soles, the AT29 is the most economical fit; if you bounce between styles, the AT30 may save you owning two pairs. We’re glad to talk it through in store.
How do the sizes work, and will they fit a taller dancer?
Energetiks adult hosiery is sized A through E, primarily by height with weight as a cross-check, and the AT29 follows the same chart as the rest of the adult range. The sizes overlap on purpose, so if you’re between two, your build and how snug you like your tights will decide it. Energetiks runs on the snug side, so size up if you’re in between or prefer more room. Size E runs to roughly 6’3″ (190 cm), so taller dancers are covered too.

Sizing Guide — Energetiks Adult Hosiery (A–E)
Energetiks sizes its adult tights mostly by height, with weight as a secondary check. Find your height below; if your height and weight put you near the top of a range, or you prefer a roomier feel, size up. Energetiks runs snug.
| Size | Height (imperial) | Height (metric) |
|---|---|---|
| A | 4’11” – 5’3″ | 150–160 cm |
| B | 5’3″ – 5’6″ | 160–167 cm |
| C | 5’5″ – 5’8″ | 165–172 cm |
| D | 5’7″ – 5’11” | 170–180 cm |
| E | 5’10” – 6’3″ | 178–190 cm |
Energetiks adult hosiery is fitted by height with weight as a cross-check, and the brand notes that if your height-and-weight combination falls into the chart’s grey overlap zone, you may prefer the next size up. This chart is a guide only, reflects body (not garment) measurements, and isn’t a substitute for an in-store fitting. Come in to August Muse and we’ll help you land the right size.
