Energetiks AT30 – Classic Dance Tight, Convertible | Adult
If you take more than one style in a day, convertible dance tights solve a problem you’ve probably worked around for years: needing footed tights for ballet and footless for lyrical, contemporary, or barefoot work — and not wanting to buy and pack two separate pairs. The Energetiks AT30 has a reinforced opening at the sole, so you can wear it fully footed under your shoes, then push your foot through to go footless in seconds. It’s the versatile member of the Classic Tights family, built on the same breathable microfibre as the footed AT27 but designed to flex with whatever your schedule throws at it.
That versatility is the whole point of this tight. The fabric, seams, and gusset are the same dependable Classic-collection build — what sets the AT30 apart is that one pair quietly covers footed and footless without missing a beat.
Why choose convertible dance tights?
The case for convertible is simple: one pair does the work of two. A dancer can keep them footed for ballet and exams, where a clean line into the shoe matters, then go footless for lyrical or contemporary, to show a pedicured foot on stage, or to roll them up out of the way during floor work and stretching. For dancers who bounce between disciplines — or anyone who’d rather pack light for a long competition or recital day — it cuts down on how much you carry and how often you’re peeling off one pair to pull on another. If you only ever dance in shoes, the footed AT27 is all you need; the moment “footless” enters the picture, the AT30 earns its keep.
How does the convertible foot work?
There’s a reinforced opening built into the sole of each foot. To go footless, you slide your foot out through that opening and tuck the foot of the tight up under your arch or roll it back. To go footed again, you simply guide your toes back through. The opening is reinforced specifically so it holds up to being used over and over — it’s placed to stay put during wear rather than gaping open or laddering after a season of changes. It’s a small piece of engineering that does a lot of work across a busy dance week.
What are the AT30 tights made from?
The AT30 shares the Classic collection’s build: a microfibre and spandex blend — roughly 72% microfibre to 28% spandex — for a smooth, slightly matte finish, comfortable stretch, and shape retention that keeps the tights from bagging at the knee or ankle. A cotton gusset is sewn in for breathability and comfort, and the seams are flat so they sit smooth under leotards and costumes. The difference between this and the footed AT27 isn’t the fabric — it’s the convertible foot.
AT30 vs AT27: convertible or footed?
This is the question most dancers are really asking. The footed AT27 is the everyday classic for dancers who are always in shoes — ballet, jazz, tap, character — and want the cleanest possible footed line for the lowest price. The convertible AT30 costs a little more and gives you the flexibility to go footless whenever you need it, which makes it the better pick for dancers who take lyrical or contemporary alongside ballet, or who want one pair that handles a whole multi-style day. Same comfort, same fabric, same sizing — you’re really just choosing whether you need the footless option. We’re glad to walk you through it in store.
How do the sizes work, and will they fit a taller dancer?
Energetiks adult hosiery is sized A through E, primarily by height with weight as a cross-check, and the AT30 follows the same chart as the rest of the adult range. The sizes overlap on purpose, so if you fall between two, your build and how snug you like your tights will decide it. Energetiks runs on the snug side, so if you’re between sizes or simply prefer more room, size up. Size E runs to roughly 6’3″ (190 cm), so there’s room for taller dancers too.

Sizing Guide — Energetiks Adult Hosiery (A–E)
Energetiks sizes its adult tights mostly by height, with weight as a secondary check. Find your height below; if your height and weight put you near the top of a range, or you prefer a roomier feel, size up. Energetiks runs snug.
| Size | Height (imperial) | Height (metric) |
|---|---|---|
| A | 4’11” – 5’3″ | 150–160 cm |
| B | 5’3″ – 5’6″ | 160–167 cm |
| C | 5’5″ – 5’8″ | 165–172 cm |
| D | 5’7″ – 5’11” | 170–180 cm |
| E | 5’10” – 6’3″ | 178–190 cm |
Energetiks adult hosiery is fitted by height with weight as a cross-check, and the brand notes that if your height-and-weight combination falls into the chart’s grey overlap zone, you may prefer the next size up. This chart is a guide only, reflects body (not garment) measurements, and isn’t a substitute for an in-store fitting. Come in to August Muse and we’ll help you land the right size.
Best For
- Dancers who take more than one style and need footed and footless in a single day
- Lyrical, contemporary, and ballet dancers who switch between shoes and bare feet
- Competition and recital days where packing one versatile pair beats carrying two
- Anyone who wants the Classic-collection comfort with the flexibility to go footless
- Exams and performances where a clean footed line is needed part of the time
A Note from August MuseThis is the pair we point dancers to when their week isn’t all one style. If you’re in ballet shoes one hour and barefoot for lyrical the next, the convertible foot means you’re not buying, packing, and swapping two separate pairs — you just push your foot through and keep moving. It’s the same comfortable Classic microfibre as our footed AT27; the only real question is whether you need the footless option. If you basically live in your dance shoes, save a couple of dollars and go with the AT27. If “footless” is ever on your schedule, the AT30 is worth it. Energetiks runs snug, so size up if you’re in between — or come try a pair on.
We carry the AT30 in adult sizes A through E and in nearly the full Energetiks shade range, including Theatrical Pink, Salmon Pink, Black, and several tans for stage and contemporary work.
