Bloch Girls Belle Leather Ballet Shoes

The Bloch Belle is a soft leather ballet shoe built for young students, and the detail that sets it apart is what’s missing: there’s no drawstring to tie, tuck, or come loose mid-class. A plush elastic topline does that job instead, so a small dancer can get her shoes on and get moving. Open one up and there’s a printed heart lining waiting inside — a nice touch for a child putting on her first pair of ballet shoes.

  • No drawstring — plush elastic topline instead, nothing to tie or come undone
  • Soft leather upper that shapes to the foot over time
  • Full suede outsole, heel to toe, for building foot strength early on
  • Pre-sewn elastic over the instep for a secure, snug fit
  • Printed heart sock-liner inside the shoe
  • Theatrical Pink Leather; widths A (very narrow) through D (wide)

Available in store at August Muse in downtown Elizabethton, TN.

Bloch Belle Leather Ballet Shoe – Child (S0227G) | No Tie, Full Sole

Most parents shopping for no tie ballet shoes for kids are really shopping for one thing: fewer fussy laces before class starts. The Bloch Belle solves that directly. Instead of a drawstring that has to be snugged, tied, and tucked in every single time, a plush elastic band runs along the topline and does the job on its own. The shoe goes on, sits snug against the foot, and stays that way through a whole class — no bow to come undone mid-plié, no loose lace to catch a toe.

Why does skipping the drawstring matter for a young dancer?

A drawstring is a small thing to an adult and a real obstacle to a five-year-old. Tying a bow, tucking the ends in, and remembering not to pull on it mid-class is one more task layered onto a child who’s already learning first position and pointed toes. The Belle’s elastic topline removes that step. The pre-sewn elastic over the instep keeps the shoe secure without any adjustment, which means less time fussing with shoes in the changing room and more time actually in class.

What does the full suede outsole do for a beginner?

The outsole runs the full length of the shoe rather than splitting at the arch. That gives a young dancer’s foot something to push against every time she rises onto demi-pointe, which is exactly the resistance that builds arch and foot strength in the early years of training. It’s why most teachers want a full sole shoe for beginners and save the split sole for later, once that strength is established.

How does the Belle compare to the Capezio Daisy?

We carry both, and they’re both soft leather, full-sole shoes built for first ballet classes — the real difference is the topline. The Daisy uses a drawstring, which lets you fine-tune the fit precisely but is one more thing for a small child to manage. The Belle skips it entirely with elastic, trading a little bit of adjustability for a shoe that’s genuinely simpler for a beginner to put on and forget about.

If your dancer is younger, newer to class, or just tired of retying a bow, the Belle is usually the easier shoe. If you want to dial in an exact fit for a narrower or wider foot, the Daisy’s drawstring gives you that extra control. Both are worth trying on side by side.

Bloch’s own size (the number you’ll select at checkout) runs about half a size below your child’s everyday street shoe size — a US 7 street shoe lands close to a Bloch 6.5. Dance footwear isn’t graded like sneakers, so treat this chart as a starting point, not the final word. Bring your dancer into August Muse and we’ll fit length and width in person.

Best For

  • First ballet classes — preschool through early elementary
  • Young dancers who struggle with drawstrings or tying bows
  • Parents who want less fuss getting shoes on before class
  • Studios requiring a leather full-sole shoe in pink
  • Building foot strength in the early years of training

A Note from August MuseWhen a parent tells us their dancer keeps coming home with an untied shoe or a drawstring wound around her ankle, the Belle is what we reach for next. It’s a genuinely simpler shoe for a young beginner — nothing to knot, nothing to come loose, just a snug elastic fit and a sweet heart-print lining she’ll like peeking at. The honest trade-off is that you lose the fine-tuning a drawstring gives you, which matters more for a narrower or wider foot. If that’s your dancer, the Capezio Daisy might fit better. Bring her by our shop in downtown Elizabethton and we’ll try both.
