Meet Matthew Haagen, Our New Guitar, Ukulele & Piano Teacher
We’re excited to welcome Matthew Haagen to the August Muse teaching team. Matthew is a new guitar teacher in Elizabethton, as well as ukulele and piano.
Matthew is a guitarist and hammered dulcimerist from right here in East Tennessee. He’s a graduate of Milligan University’s music program and specializes in classical guitar, hammered dulcimer, and church worship music.
You may have already heard him play. Matthew performs and teaches all over the Tri-Cities, and he’s a regular in local theater. He’s played guitar in the pit for East Tennessee State University’s productions of Little Shop of Horrors and Carrie: The Musical, and joined the cast of Jonesborough Repertory Theatre’s Annie Get Your Gun. He’s also performed hammered dulcimer with the Milligan University Orchestra and Concert Choir.
For the past four years, Matthew has taught students of all ages on guitar, ukulele, piano, and voice. He meets students where they are:
- Preparing for a college music program
- Getting ready for your next big gig
- Picking up a fun new hobby
Whatever your goal, Matthew is ready to help you get there.
Ready to start? Lessons are held at August Muse, 404 E Elk Ave in downtown Elizabethton. Stop by and meet Matthew on a Tuesday or Friday. Email haagenguitarmusic @gmail.com to schedule your first lesson.
